The objective of our Offshore trips is maximum fishing action; the captain will target whatever is most likely to produce the most fishing action. Trusting the captain’s judgement in terms of where and how to fish will produce far greater fishing action than requesting to target a specific species, location, or technique. A standard offshore trip may include any combination of drifting, trolling, bottom fishing, wrecks, reefs, rips, live baits, dead baits, lures. Depending upon what has been providing the best action at the time, we might target species to harvest or species to release. Typically, full day trips will produce more action than shorter durations. Generally speaking, the longer the trip, more time can be spent fishing, additional techniques can be tried, and greater area can be covered; all of this adds up to better odds for a greater catch at the end of the day.
The objective of our Offshore DeepDrop trips is to catch large-model fish found in waters over 500 feet deep. As with the standard Offshore trip, the captain will target whatever is most likely to produce the best results. An Offshore DeepDrop trip most often includes controlled drifting over fishy areas, fishing two rods at a time on the bottom with either conventional or electric reels, using either dead baits, or lures. Trusting the captain’s judgement in terms of where and how to fish will produce far greater results than requesting to target a specific species, location, or technique. Unless legally obligated, we do not intend to release any landed fish, therefore legal harvest seasons will also play a factor in where and how we fish.
