The Crew
Captain Stephen Fitzpatrick
Captain Stephen has been fishing out of Port Canaveral his entire life. He was born and raised in Central Florida and along with his father, they would frequent the waters throughout Florida learning all they have to offer. Stephen knew early on that he wanted to make his living on the ocean. Upon graduation, he worked on charter boats for several years, commercial fished, and tournament fished private boats throughout Bahamas, Bermuda, and along the Eastern seaboard. In 2025, with extensive experience under his belt, he took the leap and started DownBad Fishing Charters. Let his passion make your fishing dreams come true.
The Boat
This custom built SeaVee 31 center console boat is a fishing machine. Designed for speed and safety, it is equipped with 200 gallons of live well space, 30 rod holders, a large coffin box, Garmin electronics and a brand-new pair of Suzuki 300 outboards. With a cruising speed of 35 knots and a fuel range of well over 500 miles, this boat is one of the fastest charter boats in Port Canaveral by over 8-10 knots, and will get you to the fish fast, leaving the competition well behind. This SeaVee 31 allows DownBad Charters to offer action-packed Offshore trips that cover comparatively more fishing grounds than the other slow boats.
